في آخر إحاطة له أمام مجلس الأمن كرئيس لفريق التحقيق التابع للأمم المتحدة لتعزيز المساءلة عن الجرائم المرتكبة من جانب داعش (يونيتاد)، قدم المستشار الخاص كريم خان تقريره السادس الذي خلص إلى ارتكاب داعش إبادة جماعية بحق المجتمع الإيزيدي.
قال المستشار الخاص، كريم خان، في الجلسة الافتراضية أمام مجلس الأمن: “أستطيع أن أعلن أنه بناء على تحقيقات مستقلة ونزيهة، تمتثل للمعايير الدولية وأفضل ممارسات الأمم المتحدة، أن ثمة أدلة واضحة ومقنعة على أن الجرائم ضد الإيزيديين تشكل بوضوح إبادة جماعية. وبشكل أكثر تحديدا، حددنا مرتكبي جرائم محددة يتحملون بوضوح المسؤولية عن جريمة الإبادة الجماعية ضد المجتمع الإيزيدي”.
ومن أبرز النتائج التي عرضها التقرير: القتل الجماعي في تكريت – إذ حدد الفريق 20 شخصا رئيسيا موضع الاهتمام. وفي سجن بادوش بالموصل – حدد الفريق نمطا ثابتا من الهجمات في أربعة مواقع إعدام، شارك فيها أربعة من قادة داعش. ووجد التقرير أنه عند تنفيذ عمليات الإعدام، فرز تنظيم داعش المعتقلين على أساس ما إذا كانوا سنة أو شيعة، وأعدموا من تم تحديدهم على أنهم شيعة.
كما وصف التقرير ما حدث من تدنيس وتدمير الكنائس من جانب داعش في كرمليس وبطناي والموصل وبرطلة وقرة قوش، واستخدام المواقع الدينية للتدريب على الأسلحة وتخزين الذخيرة.

In his most recent briefing to the Security Council as Chair of the United Nations Investigative Team to Promote Accountability for Crimes Committed by ISIS (UNITAD), Special Adviser Karim Khan presented his sixth report that concluded that ISIS had committed genocide against the Yazidi community.
In the virtual session before the Security Council, Special Adviser Karim Khan said: “I can state that based on independent and impartial investigations, in compliance with international standards and UN best practices, there is clear and convincing evidence that crimes against Yazidis clearly constitute genocide. Specifically, we have identified perpetrators of specific crimes who are clearly responsible for the crime of genocide against the Yazidi community. ”
Among the most prominent findings presented in the report: the mass killing in Tikrit – as the team identified 20 major persons of concern. And in Badoush Prison in Mosul – the team identified a consistent pattern of attacks at four execution sites, in which four ISIS leaders participated. The report found that when carrying out the executions, ISIS screened the detainees on the basis of whether they were Sunnis or Shiites, and executed those identified as Shiites.
The report also described the desecration and destruction of churches by ISIS in Karmles, Batnai, Mosul, Bartella, and Qaraqosh, and the use of religious sites for weapons training and ammunition storage.
